just got a hp laserjet 2820 all in one printer from work, as they have got new ones. it works and was hardly used

i didn't have any discs, but i installed the software from <url removed>downloading

when i came to printing off a few things, the printer is set to default printer (and is the only one listed now), 2 windows pop up...
1. device appears to be offline - ok
2. a device attached to the system is not functioning

i have disconected and reconected the usb cable, restarted the printer and computer.

do i need to reinstall it?
anyone got another link that i could try

thanks

I'm surprised you didn't just take the HP driver from the HP support site.

Anyway. I've had similar effects from a low-quality USB cable, HP printers are a bit shirty when it comes to the cable. If you borrow a good one for a day you might see if that's the fix.
