HP Printer Seems to Track You

Just purchased a HP printer and have seen this once after using it for the week they send me a notice that they would like to down load the reasons for the use of the printer . I feel as if this is a way of tracking there user. I know they say no personal information will be collected but how dose one know for sure? And they have you can opt out of this program but get no more up dates for the printer. It seem as if they got you coming or going so to say . It is are way or no way.
