I have a small business and need a basic combination printer/fax/copier machine. Do not need color print. Need suggestions as to whether to buy a inkjet or lazer.

Laser tends to be much more expensive.

It depends what your after, as Dave said Laser printers tends to be more expensive, however can print pages much faster, however inkjet printers tend to print better quality photos, but as you said you only need black and white, that bit probably doesn't refer to you.

Do you need speed associated with your printing capacity needs? If so laser is a more viable option. If speed is of no importance, then an ink jet would be a more cost effective choice. Albeit slower, the inkjet is a better value for the money. That is, assuming speed is not a factor. Inkjets have a much slower printing speed.
