Hi,
I want to purchase a printer that has the highest cost to production ratio. I am planning on printing many many pages of plain black text (I have no use for colour). A Laserjet has been recommended but as to what I have no clue. I'm looking for a printer somewhere in the region of £100 pounds sterling ($200) and would hopefully be able to print 500 pages for around £5 worth of ink. Is this even viable? If so what printers would you recommend? Bear in mind that the economics of the situation is very important. |

The HP Laserjet 10xx series are ace and will achieve that. Some are round £50 but have a lite cartridge, but for about £90-100 you can get one with a full cartridge that will print ~4000 pages for round £30-40 per cartridge. (2000 at 5% coverage, but I reckon it is a lot more in normal use.)
