When I print out a MS Word document with any form of background or image, green horizontal lines appear. I have done the nozzel check etc etc in the Printer Properties and everything appears to be fine.
Help!...

Did the checks you did include checking all the ink cartridges are inserted properly, and have sufficient ink in them?

Also, have you tried printing a test page, to check it all works properly? go to: Start>control panel>printers and faxes>right click on the printer in question>click properties>click "print test page" And let us know how it comes out. Another thing, have you tried printing any pictures from any other program? (to check if it's a computer/printer problem, or a MS word problem (this is unlikely though)) It could also be a good idea (if it still doesn't print properly) to re-install the printer drivers (also assuming the checks for ink and seating of cartridges is all correct) and do another test page to see if it fixes it. What happens when you print a similar page from a different application?

Well the printer just suddenly went like that the other day after I'd had the ink cartridge in there working perfectly fine for quite a few weeks. I replaced the cartridge and text of any sort prints perfectly fine, as does borders etc, but anything with a background or picture appears to have pale green horizontal lines going across, so I really don't think it's the cartridges.
I tried to print out a table with grey background in MS Word and the green lines appeared, as did they in WordPad when I printed out the same table. |

Have you tried updating the drivers? and maybe you should try cleaning your printing heads (if it's possible on your printer) as that might help. And what happened with the test page? Does your printer have an all in one cartridge, or does it require separate ones for each colour?

I printed a test page and everything was fine on that.
I have an Epson DX5000 which requires seperate ink cartridges for each colour. |

I've just tried updating the drivers for it and it said there was no better match than what's already there!

When you said you changed the ink cartridges, which ones did you change?
