Default 22" Samsung TFT ...

Looking to buy a new TFT, bigger and better spec than my current 19" Hanns-G.

I am hoping to get a 22" TFT, and the new samsung pebble range has caught my eye, they look gooooorgeous

Around £200~, 2MS, 1000:1, DVI, 1680x1050 @ 75hrz.

I have found the following three and if anybody who has extensive knowledge on monitors would like to cast their opinion please feel free, as I need a little more advice to make a decision:

Samsung SM226BW

wall-mountable, 3000:1 ratio, 2MS response but not as flashy looking as the other two.

Samsung SM2232BW

Absolutely stunning looks, 3000:1 ratio, 2MS response but ... no bad points lol

Samsung SM2032MW

HDTV, looks best out of the low, but only 1000:1 ratio and only 20".

Would the contrast ratio and size be a good compromise for the stunning looks and HDTV ability?

Well I've got a 226bw. Its an awesome screen, I can totally recommend it, but I've never actually seen either of the other two so I can't pass judgement on those. One thing I can say though is that 3000:1 contrast ratio is achieved through dynamic picture enhancement things, which a lot of people don't like and which appears to be absent from the 2032mw therefore giving it a lower 'maximum' contrast rating.

Edit: Sorry gravedigging here, didn't catch the age of the thread at first :p

No worries mate, I think i'm set on getting a HDTV, which would lead me to the 3rd choice I chose, though not until I get my new rig sorted!

Cheers for the recommendation anyway.

New to the forum so I only now saw this tread. Anyway I got the SM2232BW and I agree that it looks stunning. The image quality is awesome. Then again, like Jimmy Hat, I've never been able to compare it with the other models.

Al I can say is, I'm using mine for digital imaging and I was impressed that 10 minutes after I installed mine I went out and got a second one...
