just got msi 8600gt in finaly, updated from the 7600gs, just a quick general review for the card i thought might be nice for asking on what card to get etc etc

this card has been snubbed alot as people who have reviewed it says it shouldnt be in the 8600 series as there was no double in performance from the 7600 as there was between the 6600 to the 7600 (hope that made sense) anyways, i downloaded company of heroes to just see performance change (gonna test bf2142 ina sec) on high settings on the 7600gs i couldnt get more than 10fps, lame i know, ive tried the 8600gt same res etc etc and ive got 105fps

this made me hate reviews as i got in such a stressy state as i couldnt find one budget card that didnt get knocked as crap or not good enough, and as you can see its proven them wrong, for me atleast.

Good post.

Get's me thinking though as I based my thoughts on F.E.A.R at 1280x1024 with 2xAA and 4xAF with full detail (which is how games should be played) and the GT saw low thirties peak fps, down to 17 (which is, frankly, unplayable).

Don't forget it's going to be game dependent. And in some cases also cpu dependent.

I surprised too, what size maps were you getting those fps on? and were they full?

Thanks for posting back, whats the o'c on the card? (Gpu and ram) I'm assuming the Stream shader's aren't oc'd.

Wouldn't mind you replying if you could as the card I used was a Vanilla, would be nice to get a comparison.

Cheers.

Is this card as good as the 8600GT http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=333142 and how much better are both these cards against two 6600LE's,would I see much of an improvement with anyone of the GT cards.
Cheers
