| Hi i was wondering how much power i would need to run: -Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz -Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P -2GBs (2x1GB) 800mhz -8800GTX -1 or 2 HDDs -1 or 2 DVDs My friend has very similar specs but hes running on a 750W. I was looking towards a 650W but i was wondering whether i would need that much or should i save a few bucks and get a 550W? |

| It's not just the wattage you need to be looking at in regards to the GTX, you need high-amp 12v rails when running such a card. You'd definately get away with a 550w, but of the twin 12v rail variety rather than spreading the ampage over 3 or 4 rails. But regarding the wattage, Intel quote a psu of between 450-600w for a core 2, single optical, single hdd, 2 dimms and a high end card. If it was me I'd be err'ing on the side of caution and getting a 600w.
