krill, you're talking as if you're trying to win something here.

to my knowledge, only a handful of people on this site actually own one of these cards. so i wanted to shed some light on what it can do with what i typically tend to play. i'm not a professional with benchmarking. i don't have access to any "high spec" game in the world for no other reason than to benchmark it. i'm showing you what i've got and what the 9600gt can do. and for the sake of some of the people reading this thread, i even chose to take time out of my day to download and spend time playing games that WOULD be tough on my system.

and why would i make it sound great if i didn't think it was great to begin with? this card showed that it could perform as well if not slightly better than an 8800gt in a lot of professional tests.

so let me put it this way. i'm lending reassurance that the 9600gt is a decent card and it performs as such. i tested crysis, and bioshock. two games that proved to be tough to run on high res at full detail. i thought that would provide some backbone to my argument but i guess you don't think that's good enough.

to top it all off, i keep saying that my results are inconclusive because i don't have all the necessary hardware to perform a decent confirmation test, and yet you still try to discredit me. i don't get what you're trying to prove. :(

You know what?I dont either.
It was decent of you to come on and tell people how you got on with the card.
I guess im just pissed off with nVidias marketing strategies.
It performs more or less the same as an 8800GT and uses less power thats about it.
But nVidia in my opinion are trying to market this card as some kind of revolution and it isnt,it will be outdated all too soon.
My problem is with nVidia I guess, sorry if I came across as confrontational.

The only thing the 9800 GX2 has made outdated is itself.

It's a crappy shovelware card with little performance gain over the Ultra and no new architecture.

I think youll find that this is the only card to be able play crysis at 1680x1050 so does have more then a little performance gain over the ultra with is getting harder to get, but saying that it is based on the older 8800gts card, but i wouldnt say its crappy shovelware or outdated yet!!!! m8, give it a fortnight for nvidia to announce another vga card and then id agree with you
