the guy on tiger tv said that you can only run two in sli not 3 cards with the 790i or 780i is this true??

Yes typically you run two cards in SLI. I just checked on the 780I, it does have three PCI x16 slots but I don't know if you can run three cards in SLI. Even if you can, you don't need to. One card is plenty to run any game out there.

on the 790i you can run three cards im just wondering though if that specific card will work having three of them or is only 2 the limit

so if i wanted like the most advanced system it would be a waste to get a 790i because i couldnt use 3 of those and only 2 ok thanks!

If you bought even one 9800GX2, you'd be throwing your money away.

The most efficient price/performance is two 8800GTs or 8800GTSs.

I would say two 9800's woul be better then tri 8800's.

Some people have had problems with 9800GX2's in SLI due to driver issues.You can't run two 9800's in SLI as only four graphics processors are supported I think.

Still, there really is no point in getting them. Go with two 8800GTS and be happy!

The nForce 790i is a beast of a motherboard but is pricy. I built a system for someone around one and had no problems with it.

even though the 9800gx2 is 2 8800gts the 512mb version what about the 1 gb version? you would have 1 less gpu but a 1gb more ram
