At the resolutions you're quoting Cewy you could get away with a 8600GTS but bang for buck the GT is the best card on the market today. It's close in benchmarks to the GTX which is around 50-60% more money.

Getting the GT will also pretty much guarantee high frame rates plus high detail settings in all games.

Nope, stick with the GT.

If you're referring to my quote of the 8600GTS. This is a cheaper card than the GT.

The GT goes from around £180-£230.

It's slightly higher performing than a GT, but higher priced as well.

But again, at the resolution of your screen it's all slightly overkill anyway.

If it was my money?

I'd buy the GT, maybe even a vanilla one (non oc'd) and spend the rest of my loot on an external hdd or something.
