I am wanting to buy a graphics card and ram for my computer but am not sure what will be the best for my computer and with a reasonable price. my mother board is an Abit NF7 (full review here http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...views/abitnf7/).
The graphics card i am looking at is found here http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_4...nic_VIDEO_CARD

The Ram i was looking at can be found here http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_5...400_SDRAM_DIMM

The reason i am upgrading is because i want to be able to play Fallout 3. My computer is a homemade one.. i bought it off a friend so i do not know too much about it. the cpu is AMD 2800+.

Will these fit and successfully operate in my computer? (and run fallout 3)

thank you for your help, sorry for my bad english

Nope sorry, none of what you have listed will fit, that motherboard is pretty old now, the memory is ddr2 you need ddr, the graphics card is pci-e you need agp
I do think if you want to play fallout 3 you would be better off building a whole new system

thanks for the reply,
ohk that's a pain.. i didn't want to spend too much though. just thought it would all be better then buying an x-box 360. i think i might just stick with this computer and try not spend much. would you be able to tell me which would be the best graphics card for fallout 3?? here are my options

Also which will play games in the future for the longest.. if you have a better one that you know of, that would be great.

The 3850 512MB is the fastest AGP card available as far as I know
Or maybe try looking for the 2600XT 512MB
They are quite expensive really
I do think that you would be better off buying or building a whole new system, you can build them pretty cheaply these days
But those are the best AGP card available so if you want to keep your current computer then they are your best option

Well it has to be a Socket A processor, I think the best you can get is the AthlonXP 3200+
Its easy enough to swap, take heatsink off, pull back clip, take out processor, put new one in and so on
You will also need a thermal paste so that the CPU and heatsink are making a good connection

How much memory does the computer have?
it supports a max of 3Gb's

Any more money you put in this machine will be a waste.

You're much better off buying a new one.

yer i dont like the 9600, I like ATI better only because with all the ATI i have had it shares the ram from the computer. But if you want to get Nividea i suggest you get the 9800GT or 9800GTX (that plys crysis at high with no lag)
