In my crummy desktop i have an Intel 82865G (GMCH) using intel extreme graphics 2. Its great for office work and mucking about with Windows but i dont really use office programs much i play games on it. well i try to say the least.

I am very aware i am in need of a graphics card instead of a chipset but for now my funds are low so im stuck with it.

I want to know if there is any way to increase the memory allocated to it? maxed out it uses a lovely 96Mb which is great if i want to play a game which runs slower than a quadrouple amputee... i have seen on a few computers the options for chipsets in the BIOS but in BIOS i am very cautious about what i modify and want to be sure about changing settings. any settings to take this upto 128Mb or 256Mb would be very very helpful, thanks.

one last question, would this card: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(21222)...512MB-AGP.aspx

fit in my motherboard? my motherboard is a MSI/MicroStar International 7041 i think, will check asap.

again any help is very much appreciated!!

Not sure about the chipset query matey, and I can't seem to find any end-user support for an MSI-7041.

You could download software to find out more details about your motherboard, SiSandra for example, http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/index.ht...64&langx=en&a=

thats a very low end card though mate! 512 or not its very low.

depending on what u need pcie etc, let us know on your motherboard

if you can stretch the extra £20 odd go with a 7600gt
