ok, but you last part troubles me. if you look on newegg, especially for some brands, people have to send in the rebates within a very short amount of time, which is why u can print the rebate to send in right after you buy the product. and people tend to send it in befor their itme arrives. but you will also see that many complin about their rebate being dinyed. what im getting at is a lot of time,(maybe not most of the time) people send in the rebate before they get their product. thus, if you get a DOA, you cant send it back. it would be nice to send in the rebate after you get the product, but many times the rebate guldlines are so strict on time, that waiting isnt an option...

Ok I see your point.

But surely most of the time you will get the order next day, so if the rebate is that time restricted, then it isn't a particularly good rebate!

And also, it is a matter of 99% of the time you will get a perfect item, every now and again you get one that hits the wall. That's life if you trying to get it as cheap as you can.

I order quite a lot of components for building PCs, and this year I have had one dodgy arrival, a PSU.

And I just sent it back with the next order.

My point being, is that you pays your money and takes your choice. Go to a highstreet shop, pay full whack and get an instant swap when it breaks.

Or go to NewEgg, pay diddle squit for it, then send in a rebate and get even more money back, and have a bit more hassle if it packs up.....
