So here is the issue:

I am running Windows XP with a nVida 6800 graphics card that supports the dual monitor setup (one hdmi one vga output) I have the hdmi output hooked up to the plug and play monitor I got with my dell xps computer. For the VGA output, I have that run to a video splitter which then splits the signal to a cheep crt monitor and a projector. In other words it looks like this:

Now this setup works when I start up windows with just the projector or just the crt monitor plugged into the vga port, then after it recognizes it, I configure my setup the way it looked in the picture. Is there some way I can have it automatically output to both the hdmi the vga port weither it recognizes something or not, or make my computer recognize that the splitter is attached so that every time I reboot windows, I don’t have to plug and unplug components to get it to recognize it?

Any advice with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

From experience my PC only outputs automatically if the device is plugged in when the PC is booted.

As the splitter isn't a device I very much doubt you can change this.

I may be wrong, but I think your stuck with it. :(

Well if I cannot make a splitter be automatically detected as a device is there a driver/bios edit/reg edit (i really dont know too much about that but I can followe directions) that I can do to make the graphics card think that a device is always connected?

Thanks again.

I doubt it, unless the splitter comes with any software... it's unlikely a 3rd party has made any for it.
