I currently have one x1950pro 512mb and might be able to get another from a friend for free but his is the 256mb version.

Would I still be able to use the cards in crossfire?

thanks max,

I think it's not recomended, but it might be a bit like RAM, in that if have different products, it only works as well as the worst (in this case both will in effect have 256MB) but this is only a guess.

After a a little research, it looks like people think you can, or atleast they do here. But I they may also be wrong, i don't know.

thanks for your time and help thingie,

I have found this http://ati.amd.com/technology/crossfire/faq.html which shows that it's possible but not as good as two identical cards, guess I'll just shove it in and see what happens
