Default dell inspiron 1100

ok so i have tried the dell forums and no one could help me there. i Know this laptop is kinda old but its a friends and this is the only comp they have really. so there were having power issue turning on. (wut a surprise for a dell) and so i reset everything Everything and it turns on now press the power button power light comes on except i have absolutely no picture, none, 0. np bios nothing. so i wnt to know is there a way to test if the lcd is bad or could it be the motherboard
