I just upgraded to a Geforce 6200 graphics card. It's from ASUS (N6200). Installed the graphics driver from the CD, and suddenly everything looks screwed. I've tried downloading and installing the lastest driver from the manufacturer's website, but it didn't help the situation. Eventually I uninstalled it and reinstalled back from the CD to avoid complications.

I can't take screenshots, they're bugged for some reason.. The last pic is the result of pressing Prt Scr and pasting into Paint.

The resolution is correct, it worked perfectly fine without the card installed last time. For refresh rate, I've checked the option that says "Show only display modes that my monitor can display", and I just tried every different refresh rate it gives. No improvement.. =\

Is there any possibility that it's a hardware problem?? Can it be because the graphics card is spoilt??

Any help would be much appreciated.. =\
Thanks!

Sorry for doubling posting, but I took a new image..

I need to re-set the wallpaper to get a better looking (http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/6...ge00004kt9.jpg), but still quite screwed (look carefully) one.. =\

PS: To the mod that approved this msg, sorry that I submitted two.. I thought it didn't go through.. I only knew it needed approval after posting the second one, then I saw that 'loading' page..

More pictures..

Nope, it's a old LCD. It worked fine before installing the graphics card though.. =\
It also worked fine while it was still using the generic driver that came with XP.

Well apart from a driver it looks to me like you have a lot of trash installed on your system.
This is of course entirely up to you and is none of my business but the point I'm making is a lot of the programs/software that you have on there may be causing conflicts with the card.
Eg; Why run 4 browsers, IRC is involved which I know can cause problems, it's a myriad.
I'd clean it up mate before you go any further.

Could it be due to the fact that the onboard graphics are still on?
You should try turning them off in the bios and booting then!
Edit: where is Alex these days anywoo?

Hey Ex.

Looks to me like a driver issue. But as Social states; Does the mobo have an integrated graphics solution? If so turn this off in the bios first before you do anything else.

Regarding the refresh rate, leave this at 60hz- no more, no less.

Once you've done that, reboot. If that's sorted it then great. If not click the 'uninstall driver' in display properties (don't rollback) and reboot again. Let me know after that.

Cheers.

Yeap. It had integrated graphics. I've plowed through the BIOS but can't find anything about onboard graphics or anything like it. My mainboard uses the Phoenix AwardBIOS (v6.0). How would I go about it? ><"

Wolfey> Yeap hahas.. xD I install weird crap on this.. I don't run most of them though.. And they're configurered not to run any of their components at startup, so I don't think they're causing the problem..

Really appreciate all the help!
