Default DVI switcher necessary?

I hope this is the right forums. Basically what I want to do is take my computer (DVI out) and a PS3(HDMI converted to DVI) and connect both to my monitor via the sole DVI port in the back. I believe that I need a switcher, unfortunately they are EXPENSIVE. Seriously, WTF!? My question is do I actually need the switcher or is there another possibility that is not so ridiculously priced. FYI the vga port is taken by my 360.

Thanks in advance.

If you HD monitor has only 1 DVI digital or HDMI and you have mulitples sources then you can use a HDMI switch http://octavainc.com/HDMI%20switch%204port_toslink.htm.

THen use a HDMI-DVI adapter or cable. Just keep in mind that DVI will not carry audio.
