It's an eVGA AGP NVidia GeForce 6800GS and the card will not retain the desktop resolution of 1440x900. Certain games, such as Arma and Counter Strike, run, while others, like Garrys Mod do not. I can get the resolution to 1440x900 after I uninstall and reinstall the latest driver, but then if the computer restarts, I launch a game, the desktop resolution goes to 640x480. I can launch a game and make the game go into the 1400x900 resolution while the desktop is in 640x480, but after exiting the game, the desktop resolution is still 640x480. I tried to move the monitor from the DVI slot to the VGA slot, but it did nothing. Dual monitors barely worked, and I just got a blue screen on a older version of the drivers. I'm not sure what I need to do, or where to even start. I did what I know and what my friend suggested, and this is my final stop.
EDIT: While I remember it, attempting to change the resolution after it goes broke, does not work. It will not go higher or lower. |
