First of all it would most probably be in your case and secondly is your old one broke?

no it is not broken, but i need informaion about the steps i would undertake to upgrade the video card to a new modle[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]. i have a laptop so i dont know much about them [/SIZE][/FONT]

Open your case , discharged yourself, unscrew and pull your old card out, replace with new card and stick the screws back in. And if you want to change your font then just click one of these
