Thumbs up Flicker Problem Can anybody solve it?

My computer detail is:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 1800
Motherboard Model: ECS M935
Motherboard Chipset: VIA VT8751(A) P4M266(A)+
RAM: 128+256 MB SDRAM
Monitor: philips 105E


When I try too play games like "GTA vicecity", "counter strike", "spiderman 2" it flickers.

Can anybody tell me Why is that???

Default Flicker Problem Can anybody solve it?

Change your refresh rate.

Right click on your desktop and go properties then setting and click advanced.

Click on the displays tab and you will see your moniters info.

I have changed the refresh rate to 75hz and still when playing 3d games such problem arises

Also there is problem in my firefox that some letters and buttons gets displaced when I scroll through websites. but there is no such problem with internet explorer????

Try changing the resolution, with firefox try starting it in safe mode if it does the same reinstall it

Graphics cards are configured for the pal standard, which is 60hz. Anything over that can induce this kind of result.

It may not be the fix to your problem, but it's certainly the frequency your monitor should be set at.

I've had CRT monitors do it no matter what I tried, in the end I just lived with it.

That was before TFT, so get yourself a flat screen fella. ;)
