Hi,

I might be getting a new graphics card for Christmas, and I want to know what I can run. Budget is around AUD$200, and probably getting from a shop, because there's one closeby which sells some stuff pretty cheap. First thing to ask is probably if my PSU is good enough... Well I don't know, but this is what it says on the sticker on the PSU.

Code:
AC Input: 200V-240V 5Hz 4A
DC Output: +3.3V +5v +12V -5V -12V +5VSB
                          33A 28A 24A 0.5A 1.0A 2.5A
Total output 500W.
So, what's probably the best card I can get?

BTW: the brand is Amaroo... Googling found nothing so I think it's a generic brand, otherwise it would be easier to find specs.

get a new power supply

putting anything in that is risky not because of the amps but because of the brand

Hmm... Okay, but I haven't got any problems which the PSU is at fault and I've had the computer for almost a year.
What would be a good PSU to buy which could handle new graphics cards these days?

edit: I remember reading somewhere that there is PCI-E 16x 1.0 and PCI-E 16x 2.0. does it matter if my motherboard is 1.0 and the card is 2.0? or if my motherboard is 2.0 and the card is 1.0?
