Hi,
I might be getting a new graphics card for Christmas, and I want to know what I can run. Budget is around AUD$200, and probably getting from a shop, because there's one closeby which sells some stuff pretty cheap. First thing to ask is probably if my PSU is good enough... Well I don't know, but this is what it says on the sticker on the PSU. Code:
AC Input: 200V-240V 5Hz 4A
DC Output: +3.3V +5v +12V -5V -12V +5VSB
33A 28A 24A 0.5A 1.0A 2.5A
Total output 500W.
BTW: the brand is Amaroo... Googling found nothing so I think it's a generic brand, otherwise it would be easier to find specs.

get a new power supply
putting anything in that is risky not because of the amps but because of the brand

Hmm... Okay, but I haven't got any problems which the PSU is at fault and I've had the computer for almost a year.
What would be a good PSU to buy which could handle new graphics cards these days? edit: I remember reading somewhere that there is PCI-E 16x 1.0 and PCI-E 16x 2.0. does it matter if my motherboard is 1.0 and the card is 2.0? or if my motherboard is 2.0 and the card is 1.0?

1. anything made by or sold under Seasonic, Corsair, PC P&C use them as OEM
2. no, doesn't matter
