I have a gforce 7600 gt. Im getting 99/100 fps 60% of the time, but i get fps drop when im around alot of people, looking in smoke, or looking somewhere far away. I have this card for about a year and a half and it just started doing this. I used to get 100 fps constant no problem. Oh and btw i play Counter Strike 1.6

Also have you run disk cleanup and Disk Defrag?? that can slow a system down. What size is your HDD? how much free space do you have left on it?

And my fps drops anywhere from 15-50 frams, but it spikes soo its really hard to play on. And i dont think it should be doing this. i have a good enough computer to run cs 1.6 smoothyl with no problems i think.

Have you installed any new software or anything? also the lag/fps spikes may be caused by your internet connection crapping out!

If it was only a recent problem, i would have suggested resetting the system to an earlier restore point prior to the error, but you may not have one for that far back.

Have you checked the temp of your GPU?
