Just spent £500 on a new computer which I built myself. Got a Intel dual core processor which is 3.0ghz, and 4gb of ddr2 ram as well.

Can you tell me if this card is good enough for most games which are new out at the moment?

Sapphire HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 Dual DVI Dual slot cooler HDTV Out PCI-E

I bought this for £104, and plan on playing some games, like world of warcraft, and maybe some shoot em ups too.

Thanks

It'll be more than fine for your purposes. In fact I have one in my computer at the moment.

Why don't you just give it a spin and see what you think?

Thanks. I plan to do just that. I loaded Sim City 3000 today and it was quite jerky and made the sound jump and freeze a lot. I've just installed DirectX 9.0 so maybe that will make a difference.

I am aslo asking in another thread about what game is good, see my other thread and comment if you know any good ones:

Thank you.

Did you install drivers for it? '

Jumpyness sounds like the PC's still running off the onboard "card".

Found the problem. It was because Sim City was set to using Hardware rendering instead of Software rendering. Very smooth now.

Thanks everyone.
