Default Graphics Card info needed for older PC

Hi everyone!
I think I know the answer to my question but I think a second, third or fourth opinion could be handy!
Basically, just before Christmas I bought a PC from a friend of a friend (Not bad spec; Fujitsu Seimens Scenic Edition X102, XP2 SP2, Intel Celeron CPU 2.66GHz, 224Mb RAM, 37Gb HDD (I have a separate HDD from a PC that blew it's MOB and CPU which gives me another 250Gb HDD), DVD-R) and I have only just had the chance to have a look at the Graphics Card so I can play some games.

Now, I have 3 empty PCI slots (Here's the 1st Question, am I right in thinking that PCI slots are pretty much obsolete now for Gaming software? I'm struggling to find a decent 256Mb PCI card, it's all PCI-E and AGP!) and I can't tell whether there was an AGP slot there above them as (according to the details I find via Google) this PC doesn't come fitted with a AGP slot BUT on the MOB above the PCI slots it says AGP and there is an empty screw hole as if one has been or could be fitted?

The PC is currently running on it's On Board Graphics Card (which I think is only about 32Mb, if I'm lucky, is there a way to confirm? I couldn't find the available MB in Device Manager) so although it's fine for General Use it's useless for Gaming!

So my Questions are:

1) Is it likely I could get an AGP Slot and fit it in the missing area above the PCI Slots?
2) Can I make the correct assumption that PCI-E Cards WILL NOT fit a PCI Slot?
3) Am I really looking at a new MOB if I want to use this PC for Gaming?
4) I assume there are no "adapters" to modify a PCI slot so that PCI-E or AGP Cards could be used?

Any feedback and/or help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Dave

Your PC is only good for general use and even for that it could benefit from more memory. In order to use for gaming you would need a Mobo, CPU, Graphics card and PSU in other words a new computer.

1) Is it likely I could get an AGP Slot and fit it in the missing area above the PCI Slots?

- Looks like you HAVE an AGP slot. Usually they're black, above the PCI slots, and longer.

2) Can I make the correct assumption that PCI-E Cards WILL NOT fit a PCI Slot?

- Yes, they are completely different.

3) Am I really looking at a new MOB if I want to use this PC for Gaming?

- You are looking at a completely new computer. This computer is not going to run any games past maybe 2001.

4) I assume there are no "adapters" to modify a PCI slot so that PCI-E or AGP Cards could be used?

- No.
