| Hello. I have noticed, since playing Call of Duty 4, that I am getting graphics glitches while playing games. World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike, and Call of Duty 4 all get the same glitches. Every now and then bars will stretch all the way across a map, sometimes they are coming out of other players and sometimes the environment. Then sometimes I'll walk to a certain point and walls of solid colors will be there until I look at a different angle or walk past them. Its really irritating. I updated my drivers and that didn't work. I use a Dell Inspiron E1705 with: 2GB RAM T2600 @ 2.16 GHz Geforce GO 7900 GS Screenshot from COD4 as example: this one is just a small bar, but they cant be quite big as well and I won't be able to see anything behind it until I pass through it |

| Overheating causes 99.9% of all artifacts :)

| Yes, but is it artifacts? I thought artifacts were more like pixel glitches. These seem to be in game, they stretch from other players sometimes and if I move to a different angle they disappear until I go back to the original angle. Its really odd and hard to explain. It also says my NVIDIA GPU is running at 73 C |

| Oh, well in that case, drivers are probably the issue.

| In the link i provided there is this. Q u o t e: Actually, ignore my previous email. As of 2.3, my wow just BSOD crashes or hangs every 5mins and I cant seem to do anything about it...... So after twinking around for a bit, I think I found that turning the in-game resolution all the way down helps to prevent the BSOD and system lock ups. My alienware laptop is a 17in monitor with 1440x900 native resolution. Currently, I am running wow in window mode at 1280x720. IT may NOT help, but how do WE know until the member TRIES IT???? |
