Default green and purple lines

hi,

switched on the computer today to find green lines verticaly on the desktop screen, they turn purple over anything white. they do however dissapear when i run the pc in safe mode.

any ideas?

I'd update your graphics drivers, failing that try another graphics card.

I have the same problem, still haven't fixed it though. Here are some things that could be causing this: Be sure speakers are not close to the monitor.
If you have a working spare monitor plug that in, take it for a spin, it could be your monitor.
As said before get latest video card drivers.
Could be because your video card is over heating, heating problems do have affects on your computer!

Try those, other than those I don't know what happend may need to replace your video card. Good luck and I hope I had some impact on this situation.
