Ok so my current set up is a Phenom x4 9550, 5gb ddr2 ram(4 sticks), 1 750gb Sata and a GTS 250 512mb. My card is an EVGA and I am going to step it up to a 260, and I was wondering if my BFG 550w would still be enough to power it? I used antec's calculator and used my system with the 260, and it came to 295w. I know wattage isn't as important as amps, and my psu has 36 amps on the dual +12v rails.

Do you think I can do it, or do I need to go ahead and get the Corsair 650?

36A is fine and BFG makes moderately good equipment, you should be definitely fine.

I hope it's a 260 Core216, the old ones are pretty shoddy. Maybe a read of Carbon's guide might help you pick out something a bit better?
