UltiLink is on a distinguished road
Default Guys. need some help choosing.

Well. Im building my own computer. last time i built it, my dad chose the parts.
But, im stuck. I dont know what graphics card.
I want to get either the 9600GT (nvidia) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=56&subcat=356
The x1950 (radeon) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=56&subcat=404
Or the HD 3870. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=56&subcat=416
my first idea was the 9600 gt, but the HD 3870 has better specs.

Please help me choose.
I know that ill need a different motherboard for the Nvidia or radeon.
(amd proccesor).

9600GT. Functionally equiv to a 8800GT, cheaper than the 3870, and overall a better card (but not by much).

"not by much" is right. it was designed to juuuust beat the 3870 in all benchmarks. there are still one or two small areas where the 3870 pulls a head a tiny bit but everywhere else it's beaten by the 9600. i can vouch for how good the 9600 is. it's a strong performer. i love it. get it. right now.

8800 is the best one there
3870 has good specs but shader clock isnt high which is required for the new breed of games e.g. crysis pushes shader to the extreme.
9600 is a good card but only have 64 stream processors
8800 has 112 stream processor

so i advise a 8800 but if your budgets tight go for the 9600
