Default HDTV on PC

Hi all,

I got a 26Inch Samsung HDTV on my room.
And I also have a pc Ya its quite a splendour at my place. Luxury everywhere. Lol gonna be serious now.

The problem is, Ive never connected my TV to my pc. And im quite desperated becose my friend keeps boasting that he has 2x22"inch ftf screens and I want to make him jealous.

So can anyone tell me what kind of wires cables and shit I need to connect the tv to the PC. I already tried to connect the tv to the computer with a DVI/VGA connector. The tv got a VGA socket and the 8800GTS Videocard a DVI socket. Then I had to setup the tv with the remote controller. I did everything which I readed in the manual. But I coudnt select PC in the TV Setup while the option was available. It wasnt just highlighted which means I coudnt select it.

So Currently There's no PC on my TV. Hopefully you people can help me to get it working. See ya'll

So im guessing that your TV knows when there is information going to its vga socket. In that case your computer must be running and make sure that the video card on your computer is set up correctly to be sending signal to the TV. Then retry selecting PC on the TV setup.

ye im sorry about that. I suppose its becose I typed to fast. By the way, I havent spotted any rule or guidelines which told me about typing in appropriate language. Does it really have to be that formal?

Furthermore, no offence to anyone. But I still have my tv/pc issue. Can nobody tell me on how to connect the tv to it? because im going to be a bit desperate at the moment. I hope I'll hear from you again, See ya.
