Would really appreciate it if someone can help me out...I have a Nvidia Geforce6600gt..If i connect the card with my powersupply which is a 550w..I get a black screen but when i disconnect the powersupply the monitor works and i get a picture but when i start comp windows puts my card in safe mode which i understand why...But my question is...Would it be my videocard or my motherboard (ASRock 939dual-sata2) thats causing this issue..

I checked out some other places about your particular card. Seems a lot of people are having the same difficulty. I am sure your motherboard is fine. Make sure the fan on the video card is working. If the card seems to be connected correctly then make sure that you don't have your old video card drivers. In safe mode go to the device manager and open up display adapters. If you see a warning sign then you know you have a driver problem. Try getting the latest drivers from the manufactures web site. I normally don't use the drivers that come packaged with the card. Video cards can be sensitive if by any chance you had a rough time getting it into the slot it could be damaged.
