Hey everyone, I recently bought a new laptop that comes with T3400, 2GB Dual Channel PC-5300 RAM and a X3100 . I wanna know which OS would be better for gaming. The reason I'm asking this question is because on my old laptop (which got robbed ) had a Celeron 540, 1GB PC-6400 RAM with XP and Scored 1103 on 3Dmarks03 and on my new one with Vista I scored 1703. But is it because the CPU is better so I scored more or because the drivers are better on vista ? I also noticed some games run better on my new laptop such as War Rock and BF2 but games like Guild Wars and HL2 ran better on my old one. Damn i'm confused Please give me some advice I'd appreciate any replies

Most choose XP, more stable etc.

It may be perfectly normal, I don't know, but PC-5300 RAM with a X3100??

Isn't that like having a million deadbolts on your door, which itself is reinforced with titanium and diamond, but then, leaving them all unlocked?

Ignore me if it's a perfectly sensible combination - I don't game myself.

well i choose PC-5300 because thats the fastest my laptop supports and i suppose dual channel makes up for it? well I don't wanna deleted all my data for XP if I didn't HAVE to. Well I might try dual booting.

Oh ok fair enough, makes sense.

Yeah dual-booting would be a good option, then you can try it on both see which you prefer. Also you wouldn't have to use a massive partition if it was only for gaming, just leave enough for however many games.
