Default Help! Installing an Nvidia Ge Force 8600gt

I have recently bought a Galaxy Nvidia GeForce 8600gt 512mb.
I have installed it into the PCI E slot and connected it too the moniter, yet it doesn't pick it up. I have sufficient power to run it, 550W power supply. When I turn the computer on I can hear the computer working but nothing appears on the screen at all. any help would be appreciated.

I assume you have plugged in all the cables inside the computer and installed the card into a PCI-E x16 slot?

First things to check are the cables inside!

If not then you may have to change some settings, did you have onboard graphics previously?

Wattage doesn't matter. If the PSU is crappy it doesn't matter what they rate it at.

Default Help! Installing an Nvidia Ge Force 8600gt

I have the exact same problem mentioned above and am hoping someone could help me with it
My specs are : M3N78-VM board, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 cpu, Galaxy GeForce 8600GT video card, 500W cooler master psu.
