Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this topic, sorry if it isn't in advance. We'll anyways recently I have been having a problem with my computer. When I go to play any game such as Counter-strike my monitor will show purple/pink and green lines. I have recently upgraded my video drivers. My video card is a RADEON 9800 series 128mb. Even though I have gotten latest drivers the problem still persists. I have tried moving speakers or any kind of electronics away from my monitor but still the problem occurs. I have even tried my other monitor to see if it was my monitor but it did the same thing to that one as we'll. May anyone know anything concerning this matter please help. Thanks in advance!

Certainly not, I doubt it is the game itself, it does it on multiple games. Usually, when I've tried to play Counter-Strike after 5 minutes of in the game and playing or more it will happen. Then It will not go away until I restart my computer. When I play again it will happen all over again. I appreciate it thanks. More feedback is welcome.

Did you take the right steps to uninstall the old drivers first? or did you just put the new ones on top of the old ones?

    1. Uninstall the ATI drivers also found in the Add/Remove section. Once removed, it will prompt you to reboot....do so.

    2. When returning to windows, the NEW HARDWARE FOUND wizard will come up and will tell you that it has found a new VGA card and will prompt you for drivers. Hit CANCEL!

    3. Download Driver Cleaner Professional here

    4.Run DC selecting everything ATI

    5. Now it is time to install your new drivers

    Hope that helps:)

I'm quite certain this is a overheating problem. How long has it been since you open up your computer? I'd suggest you open it up and check how dusty everything is. Clean out the fan filters and use compressed air to get rid of all the dust you can find.

It sounds like artifacts to me, and from my experience all computers have different artifact related scenarios.

Generally when I overclock too far or the graphics card gets too hot I get green dots all over the 3D terrain.

hi, I have come to the conclusion my problem is due to the heat. I have opened up my computer and removed all dust particles. And just to see if it was a heating problem I took a fan and placed it pointing into my computer towards my video card. Everything now seems to be working properly. Thank you.
