Default HELP needed about monitor.

Hi, (do not know whether I posted it in the right thread)

I have a CRT monitor and sometimes it flickers and then it just would not turn on. I know it is from the VGA cos when I clean the fan, it restarts normally. Now the thing is that the picture is kind of zoomed and stretched to widesreen in the sense that the left and right sides are not visable.

Could you pls help me cos I cannot use the PC like this. I have tried from the Monitor Resolution (and also from the desktop settings) but to no avail.

Still am having this problem and I cannot figure out what it is. The screen is like a 'pillow' and is very irritating + that the right side of the screen is there but not visable due to not being able to adjust the screen resolution. As if the monitor got stuck!!!

How to solve the problem I have, just do as the say "OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW". That what I was told from Scan repairs. So will buy a 17" TFT :)
