Please can someone help me!

I have just bought a new laptop which is sadly without an S-video cable. I do however have a VGA to component. The problem I'm having is that my telly has a maximum refresh of 50 Hz, where as on my laptop I can only select an output of 60Hz! Is there any way I can reduce the refresh rate on my computer so my telly & my laptop are compatible????

My Computer has the following Spec:
Model: ASUS X51R Series
Operating System: Vista Premium
Graphic: Generic PnP Monitor on ATI Radeon Xpress 1100

• Go to Control Panel>Display
• In Settings> Advanced>Monitor
• Always Check the box for ‘Hide modes that this monitor[COLOR=#0033CC ! important][FONT=verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif][COLOR=#0033CC ! important][/FONT][/color][/color] cannot display’ to avoid hardware disputes. This will then give a drop down list of refresh rates that your monitor safely supports and you may set it up without error. You may also check your manufacturer’s documentation for information about the settings that your monitor supports.

It will only let me select 60Hz. I've downloaded an advanced version of display settings (as recommended by a friend) but there are no useful settings there. Surely there must be a way to get whats on my computer onto my TV???

Please someone help!
