hey guys, what im trying to do seems pretty simple. I want to hook my laptop up to my tv via s video cable. i just cant get it to output to the tv. it wont show up as a second monitor in my monitor settings either.

my system is a hp pavilion dv5000 laptop.
there is integrated graphics. ATI radion xpress 200m.

so far i have tried to activate my s video port through the cmos and through the properties menu.

any help would be cool.

you have to do it through the video card driver. there should be an option to enable an external monitor. what video card/company do you have

What windows version are you using?

If it's XP then right click on you background and select properties then settings and hit the detect button with the tv plugged in and turned onto the s-video channel.

Let me know how you get on. :)

Go to the catalyst driver and go to monitor options or something like that. Enable the 2nd monitor
