I had onboard video and then bought a radeon x1650. after i installed it, my monitor colors looked horrible (before it was almost perfect, just not bright enough). i used the drivers from ati and then the manufacturer, tried adjusting in catalyst and even with the buttons on the monitor, i couldn't get it to look anywhere close to before the x1650. i uninstalled the x1650, and it still looks like it did with it no matter what i try. i uninstalled the x1650, and it still looks like it did with it no matter what i try.

how do i get it looking like before or better? my monitor is a NEC multsync 70 and im using windows xp. below are some before and after screenshots.

I believe the issue must be with your monitor since the image colours look the same to me colour wise.

Hmm not necessarily. It might just be the way his graphics card is sending the colours out to the monitor.

Is there any way you can connect the monitor to another PC to check?

a few others mentioned that too. since the pics don't show the difference, here's the problems: reds are orange, yellows are gold, whites aren't as white, and everything is blurry and not as sharp and clear as before the video card install.

now i uninstalled the video card and back to onboard video. still looks the same as it did with the video card.

i can get another monitor in a few days, but it will be an lcd. does that matter since my monitor is a crt?

It probably won't matter to you, since I assume you aren't a trained graphics specialist/designer.
