| hmm, well, what do you need it for? is it for gaming? And what gfx card have you got? this will help for the conector required. Also, do you want an HD screen? Once I know these, I will have a look for some monitors.

| well the advantage of HD is higher resolution, the alternative is the normal non-HD, however the problem is, the price is quite high for HD screens from what I remember, and so, you will be wanting a DVI connector for the screen for those cards your thinking about, I'm not sure if the 7600GS has a DVI, but I asume it has as my card does, and that's older. I'll have a little look into monitors for you.

| from a quick look, it seems like you might actually be able to get a 24" screen for the price you said in the first post, however it will be one of the cheaper ones, try looking as the monitors in the links below and read reviews about them and see if there are any you like, if unsure about any, or want another opinion post it back here, and i'm sure someone will give you an opinion on them.

| thanks for the quick respons! yeah my 7600 Gs has DVI connector, in fact it has 2 and i hav an adaptor making it VAG lmao looks like i feel the 22" more than the others... 24 for the extra 2 inch seems a high price to pay so from your link (this) what should i be looking for? as in "1000:1 Contrast Ratio" what does that mean ^^ (told u i know nothing =P) This takes my eye Asus thanks craiig// Last edited by craiig : 30th Apr 2008 at 09:29 AM. |

| ok, something I should have said earlier but it's "VGA no VAG" just so you know

And the for the contrast ratio it's probably explained better here than I can explain it, and as for other things to look at is viewing angle (the angle from perpendicular you can see the display from), response time (time it takes for the monitor to display the picture it is told to display) they are the main things, but look at the reviews, and I would only pick one if I saw a review they said it was good (some monitors are baddly made and fail quickly or have many dead pixels (pixels that are always on or off, causing a black spot on the screen, or a white spot on the screen)My System: First OC

| From the looks of the specs it looks quite good, and my brother is very happy with his asus laptop so i don't think there are any problems with the company, but as for the monitor it self, maybe try looking at a few reviews, try searching through google, or using the links in the news posts for hardware reviews and searching those sites, see what they think of them.

| Again, looks like a nice monitor, and nearly all reviews are 5/5 so thats good, but another thing I just thought of, was, have you considered buying one second hand? because I bought my 19" second hand and I have never regretted it, it's quite a bit cheaper, and if they have looked aster it, it shouldn't be that different to getting one new.
