Default Monitor failing?

I have a flat screen monitor, made by gnr, 1280 x 1024 res, just over a year old.

It has started getting these shadowy lines across the screen, running from text or boxes. It's a bit hard to describe so I took a photo, hopefully you can see it from that.

Does this mean it's ready for the scrap-heap or can I fix it somehow?

Default Monitor failing?

I know this answer may seem pointless and unhelpful to some but it may provide some help to you, my friend had the exact ptoblem just a little worse, so this may not apply to you, he tried everything he and i could think of about 7 months back, tried wires, cables, cards, cleaning the comp out , settings, res, pc world and nothing worked or even made it better, he ended up getting a new one under warrenty, someone may be able to help due to the fact that yours doesnt seem really bad just annoying, but i wouldnt build my hopes up mate.

have you tried the wires? cheacked they are all in fully? and try changing the refresh rate of the monitor, see if that makes any difference.

It doesn't look healthy, I'd suggest that it is indeed failing. Get a new one, under warranty if possible

GNR are proper budget, a better brand should last much longer.

Were they wavey lines? Like shimmering? If so i had that problem before. Found out a cable was arching on the Graphics card.
