Hi, can anyone help please. My monitor has started shutting down saying not connected or no signal being recieved. When I turn off PC then turn it back on it comes back on for a while then shuts off again. PC seems to be working fine apart from this. I have tried a different monitor and that does the same thing. I put new graphics card in about 18 months ago but as monitor gets plugged into this thought it could be that, that is causing problem. Last time graphics card went pjicture just kept breaking up but this time monitor just turns itself off.

Hope someone has some ideas. Thanks

open the case and make sure there is no dust ...anywhere, the monitor is turning off because the graphics card is shutting down not producing an output

Hi, thanks for the replies. I have cleaned out my PC, reconnected the graphics card but the same thing is happening. When it happened the last time I took cover off to look and the fan on the graphics card is still working so power must be getting to it. I have now resorted to putting the card into my son's PC. It is working fine in there so not sure if it's card or not. He has onboard graphics on his but I installed my card but not sure if it would revert to his on board graphics if my card went faulty. No messages have come up to that effect though. Any help would be welcome. Thanks

to make sure his pc isnt running of on board when your gfx is connected to right click on the desktop, go to properties and then to display properties and see if it is running odd the onboard or your nvidia card
