Default Monitor trouble

When I turn on my monitor the lite in the on/off button is dim, monitor does not come on. I wait about a minute and the button lite goes off but it is taking longer an time passes, hit button again and monitor comes on. Meaning, I have to turn on monitor twice so is this something that can be fixed cheap or would it be best to get a new monitor.

Thanx for any help

How old is the monitor?

Is it TFT or CRT?

What size is it?

Well in answer to your question it is not worth repairing.

And unless you are comfortable with component repair it's probably a bin job.
