hey recently when i bought my new pc i had a widescreen monitor which i didnt want so i used my old monitor

recently ive had the idea to use this monitor as a tv ......

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2M-Scart-Lead-...QQcmdZViewItem

now ive found this as my monitor has a vga connection, what i want to do is simply plug the scart into my dvd and the vga end into my monitor, would this work, do i need a convertor or tuner or anything like that, that ive been reading about, i only watch dvds as it is or on this tv/monitor anyways,

so to sum up i may have scrambled my words a little, can i use that cable to watch JUST dvds on my monitor ?

its just down to size really, my huge old tv is just pointless

You could buy a male to female converter.

oohhh yeh me being stupid i didnt realise that monitors have different refresh rates to tv's so a straight conection would never work. id need a scanner box thing, but its pointless spending that, a new lcd tv is much more of an easier option,

just clearing this thread
