Hi guys, this has happened twice today, When i come back to my pc after a few hours, and waggle the mouse to get it out of power saving, it doesn't do anything, my pc is on and working, cause mouse clicks and opening/closing things etc can be heard but just a total black screen, which means a reset, then the monitor comes on and stays on until i leave it a while,i assume this is the power management thing?

Its a flat screen monitor by the way,and im running xp

I just switched the setting to never switch off monitor, will that work? and if so, what would be the most likely cause of it in the first place? or cani just ignore the automatic switching off the monitor, and just use the button on the front of the monitor instead?

Any help would be appreciated as this is stressing me out

Just an update, the monitor started dying again, and only stayed on for 2seconds at a time, it turns out it wasn't actually off, but the inverter to the backlight was broken, so it was a new monitor time
