well what motherboard do you have?
chances are your graphics card is in a pcie slot (hopefully) if your motherboard has two of these slots then we can just simply move it into the other

mrdavey: most boards with 2 SLI slots have the other running at a lower speed (typically 8x). I wouldn't recommend that. You might have IRQ conflicts, and 99% of the time the top PCI-E slot is the one you're supposed to put it in (so it's unlikely moving it will help, probably hurt :p).
If it's in the bottom slot move it up, if not get a new board.

Lots of the newer Graphics Cards have tall components/fans that will block the PCI slots.

There's not a lot you can do about it, other than change your Graphics Card, but that isn't usually practicle. What do you need the PCI slot(s) for ? and what is in the PCI slots currently? ..... there maybe a workaround perhaps ? My System: Home Build
