Default My monitor has gone black and white!

All the sudden, while browsing the internet, my screen goes black, then comes back on and there isn't any colour anymore. It's simply black and white! I have no idea what the problem could be, I tried un-plugging and plugging the monitor cables, but no luck. I'm posting this question here because I think it has nothing to do with the monitor itself.

Can someone please help me out?

Thank you very much in advance.

Right click on a blank part of your background then select properties then settings. Bring the colour depth up and see if that helps.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work....

Anybody know what the problem could be? Could there be a problem with the video card?

Thanks in advance.

Try the monitor on another PC to rule that out or not.

From experience though I'd say the graphics card is probably on the way out.

You could also try updating the software drivers.

I'll try that and keep you updated.
By the way, it's weird that the video card is on its way out, since I only bought this computer three months ago.

It's the HP 8090 with a Radeon X1650 Video Card.

Not really, a new product can be faulty out of the box, one week old or 10 years old, it's a lottery.
