Default NEC LCD buzzing noise

My NEC LCD, which is about 2 months old, has begun to make an audible buzzing noise. I called up their tech support and was told it should not be doing that, but they told me, since they monitor is over 30 days old it is no longer considered new. Therefore I have two options. 1) They will ship me out a refurbished model, and then I would ship this one back to them in the box. 2) I can pay to ship this one to them, wait for it to be repaired, and they will send it back to me.
Well, the last option is out because I need my monitor for my work and can't be without it for that long. (I also can't see why I should have to pay to ship them a defective product still under warranty.) But I am also hesitant about accepting a "refurbished" monitor as a replacement, having had bad experiences with refurbished products in the past.

I am feeling pretty disappointed by the options I'm being given here for a product still under warranty and am wondering if anybody out there has been in a similar situation in some point and could offer any advice. Thanks.

Other than repairing it yourself you don't have any other option.
