| Hey so I'm building my first computer and I had planned on getting a GeForce 8800GT but unfortunately Newegg Doesnt ship to Canada and the Website I'm now using doesn't seem to have any and I don't know if i want to jack up and get the 8800 GTS at this point in time (maybe after I've recovered from spending $1000+ on this computer) so I was wondering if you could suggest any graphics cards that are still decent and will run games at respectable settings for less than 300 dollars. I did find an 8800GTS for 269. Would you say it'd be worth it to just bite the bullet and save that extra paycheque to get the 8800 GTS or would say an 8600 GTS be good enough to last me for a while? |

| Hey up GD. To answer your question I need to ask you a couple: What is the resolution of your monitor? What games to you play? What is the spec of the rest of your build, specifically the cpu?

| Hi GD. Apologies for not coming back to you sooner, kinda fella asleep there. Anyway, now I'm awake... Yup, a 8600GTS will more than suffice at that resolution. But, as I'm guessing it's an old screen at that resolution, It will also suffice upto a resolution of 1280x1024 (17-19" screen) should your screen go and you need to buy a new one. However as larger screens (20-24") are coming down in price now, by a very large margin to be frank, because they're becoming a lot more mainstream you'll need a more powerful card should you decide, in the future, to get one of these screens as they run a resolution of 1680x1050 - 1920x1200.
