Hey all, I'm new to the forum here and I have a dilemma. Recently my house got robbed and they stole my computer tower...they didnt take my 20" LCD monitor although but they did cut the DVI cable going to the monitor off of the tower and didn't even bother to unscrew it. Is there an easy way to replace the DVI cable of the monitor since the cable is cut in half??
Thanks,
Marshall

I'm not seeing what the problem is here besides "buy a new DVI cable for $2 off MonoPrice"? Is the cable integrated into the monitor or something?

Well the lead is probably soldered to the main moard of the monitor... so unless you are competent at soldering and confident enough, with electronics, to dismantle the monitor and resolder a new cable in, you would probable be better off taking it to a Repair Shop.

Couldn't he get a new DVI cable, slice it in half too, and then splice it together?

I thought of that too, but I'm not certain whether all manufacturers use the same colour coding for the internal wires. If not, without the pinout information, it might get a bit tricky.
